Awards & Reviews:
93 Points "My notes, soft on the approach with savoury characters but light for the Hunter, redcurrant fruit also coming into play 93 points and value at $25. After my tasting I took it to the table, my lady Tracey took a sip and said that’s good, it’s an instinctive opinion and worth more than my notes." The Key Report, Tony Keys, 2017
"95 Points. Medium weight but firm and insistent. There's no question over the quality of this. It's all cherry-plum, earth and spice but the way it manages the respective loads of sweetness and savouriness feels so assured you'd describe it as compelling." James Halliday, Halliday 2017
"91 Points. Sweet and earthen. Cherry-plum, earth and spice with a coating of creamy oak. Light- to medium-bodied with firm, insistent tannin. A good, juicy, well-made red at the lighter end of the spectrum. Drink: 2016-2026." Winefront, Campbell Mattinson, Aug 2016
"A deft balance of flavoursome ripe fruit, fine tannins, 13.8% Alc & clean acid results in a smooth shiraz reflecting the regional characteristics. It displays aromas and tastes of mulberry, peppery spice and oak-derived vanillin. A very pleasant and enjoyable drop which is drinking well now but will cellar and develop over the next 5 years." The Grape Hunter, Gilbert Labour, Sept 2016
90 Points. "Underlying savoury hints, with a black fruit topping sitting nicely over things. Hints of vanilla oak add a final layer. Medium bodied, sweet fruit tinged, a juicy representation. Perfect mid-week libation." The Vinsomniac, 2017
"A medium-bodied, soft wine with notes of vanilla, tobacco and dried spices, and a fine tannin structure. With 13 months' oak maturation in new and one-to-three year old French and American hogsheads and puncheons, this wine is a rich cherry red in colour. The nose shows dried spices with lifted notes of black plums, vanilla and tobacco. The elegant finish is soft, dry and long, with a fine tannin structure. The Wilhelm shiraz 2014 can be drunk between now or cellared until 2030." My Business Magazine, Oct 2016
