A boutique Cellar Door and wine producer, founded in 1996 by well-known vignerons Jan and Jorg Gartelmann. Gartelmann Wines is located in the Lovedale region of the idyllic Hunter Valley, NSW and is now owned and run by local renowned Chef/Restauranteur Matt Dillow and his team. Specialising in fine, hand-crafted wines created by expert winemakers using grapes selected from a range of premium growers in the Lower and Upper Hunter Valley, Central Ranges, Rylstone and Orange regions of NSW, as well as Renmark and Clare Valley SA and Rutherglen VIC.

With the help of like-minded, dedicated winemakers and growers, the business has grown into the place ‘not to be missed’ in the Lovedale area. The wines speak for themselves and the business has now earned a reputation for producing elegant, quality wines at a reasonable price.

The winery has achieved significant success over the years, most recently with the 2024 Lisa Reserve Chardonnay winning Trophy for Best 2024 Chardonnay at the 2025 Hunter Valley Boutique Wine Show and the 2024 Del’s Picpoul receiving 95ts in the newly released Halliday Wine Companion, the highest rated Picpoul from this current publication. Along with numerous other wines receiving medals at recent national wine shows, from a range including Sparkling, Whites, Reds and Sweet wines.  

The welcoming cellar door extends to the adjoining The Deck Café Lovedale ‘Tapas Bar’, overlooking the picturesque bush setting.
