2016 Jonathan Cabernet Sauvignon
This wine has been named after Jorg Gartelmann’s grandson Jonathan.
Nose: Some leafiness, chocolate, smoky ripe blackberries, a touch of aniseed, violets, a vague hint of lanolin and menthol. This elixir has the lot. Colour: Deep maroon reddish pink. Chewy tannins, sturdy acid, and more berries. Mellows, deepens and gets richer after opening.
Slow braised beef ribs, venison, kangaroo and mature cheeses.
Drink from 2019, better from 2021, or cellar until 2026+.
