This 2017 offering has aromas of damson plum, white pepper, raspberry and strawberry.
More in the line of the classic Hunter “bigger” style of Verdelho compared to the recent past’s “lean, mean and green” vogue, this 2017 Jessica exudes passionfruit and pineapple on the nose with a waft of Tahitian lime sherbet.
92 Points. "Satsuma plum. Redcurrant. Violet. Wood spice. This loads up with fruit and delivers it promptly and well, curls of tannin and sweet oak almost entirely consumed in the rush. Drink by 2023" Winecompanion, Oct 2016
This “white of white” is based on Chardonnay grapes, giving it the wonderful elements of that variety: apple and honey characters on the nose, complexity on the palate and the ability to be delicious when young, or superb with age.
Gartelmann Sparkling Shiraz is our contribution to an iconic Australian wine style. Richly fruited Shiraz is given an extra dimension from secondary fermentation. The base wines are specially selected for their style and aged in old oak barrels for 12 - 15 months.
91 Points, "The aroma is restrained and delicate, the palate fresh and soft, with a good balance between accessibility and ageworthy restraint. It drinks well already. Very good." Huon Hooke, 2016
"Fragrance of pretty flowers, green pear slices, lime pith & bitters citrus. Holds some texture, sour citrus acidity cuts through crisp green apple slices with a pleasant lingering quartzy minerality...." Vinonotebook, Regan Drew, August 2016
"92 Points, No need to hesitate. Its flavoursome but feels steely and crisp through the finish. Yellow stone fruits, a whisper of oak, apple. Thoroughly enjoyable." James Halliday, Halliday 2017
"94 Points, Excellent richness and length. One of those wines that combines (admirably) depth and prettiness. Dark berries, sweet and ripe, meet florals and spice... Positively mouthfilling." James Halliday, Halliday 2017
"...Plush mulberry flavour shows on the front palate, plum, Turkish delight chocolate, anise and vanillin oak meld on the middle palate and dusty tannins show at the finish." Newcastle Herald, John Lewis, August 2016
