2016 Gartelmann Diedrich Shiraz
Matured for 16 months in a mixture of new and one to three year old 500 litre puncheons and 300 litre hogsheads. We used a mix of American and French oak barrels.
This soars with pretty aromas of florals, red berried fruits, a dusting of spice and equally rewarding on the palate. An elegant wine, medium-weighted with supple, sleek tannins, crisp, lemony acidity and plenty of joy in between. Really hard to put down.
Rare roast beef with a pepper sauce, served with roast root vegetables such as beetroot and potato.
